Ikaho in Gunma is an old hot-spring town built around a stone staircase of 365 steps lined with inns and shops. It has two kinds of water: the brown, iron-rich "kogane" (golden) water and the clear "shirogane" (silver) water. Most places here are ryokan, and many accept tattoos only if covered or in a private bath.
